There are hundreds of satellites that are in Earth's orbit that are used in our everyday lives to perform many tasks. A satellite's main purpose is to transmit data. It can be anything from audio to visual data. It is also used as a preferred method of transmitting communication data. Satellites have become a vital part of our daily function and a huge tool that is needed to carry out daily tasks.

A satellite collects data via a radio signal. It converts the signal and transmits it into other frequencies that can be received by other devices. These devices are capable of receiving almost any kind of wireless frequencies. However, most are specific to receiving one kind of frequency.

Because of its ability to transmit an enormous amount of information, major companies in today’s society use satellites as their primary communication device. They are widely used around the world because of their ability to perform many different tasks.

Communication satellites send and receive information for devices such as cell phones and televisions. This type of satellite sends and receives both audio and video frequencies, allowing you to hear sound and see visual images. A GPS, or global positioning satellite, sends and receives data of specific locations around the globe. The data collected by the satellite transmits and calculates the precise position of your location at any point on the surface of the Earth.

Satellites are used in every aspect of our lives and it’s the desired communication device for performing many different tasks.
